TBS Gravel Metric
The Ride
The Gravel Metric isn’t just a ride — it’s a grind, a climb, and a test of grit. With over 60 miles of classic New England gravel, unmaintained backroads, forest double track, and steep rollers, this route is built for riders who want to dig deep and embrace the rough edges of gravel.
Expect punchy climbs, fast descents, and stretches of remote quiet that remind you why we ride in the first place. It’s a day where your legs will burn, your tires will bite, and your spirit will carry you through. Post ride coffee will be waiting for you!
Ride Format
Group rollout at 8:00 AM.
Riders may naturally split into smaller pace groups.
No official sweep — bring your independence and self-sufficiency.
Horses have the right of way on our trails, please be patient and put a foot down until they pass.
Support
One water/snack station. Details will be provided closer to event date.
Self-supported beyond that — bring your nutrition, tools, and a good dose of grit.
Who’s it for?
This ride is for experienced gravel riders looking for a serious day in the saddle. If you’re comfortable with long miles, technical terrain, and carrying what you need, you’ll feel right at home.
Cost
💲 Free community ride hosted by The Bike Shop and One Love Outdoors (donations welcome to support future events).
What to Bring
Gravel in solid working condition
Spare tubes/plug kit, pump/CO2, multitool
Adequate water & snacks
Positive vibes, tough legs, and a willingness to suffer a little
✨ In true Terrapin spirit, this ride will keep you steady, challenge your limits, and reward you with the kind of satisfaction only a gritty gravel century can deliver.

Women on Wheels Intro to MTB
Join Emily for Intro to MTB rides!
This is a great ride to get comfortable on trails and try some features in a welcoming environment.
The Details:
About 5-6 miles in 1.5 hrs, depending on how long we session things.
The trails are listed as blue on trail forks, but every feature has a B line and it's mostly like a blue flow trail. There's a bit of tech but nothing impossible. Lots of opportunity to progress with rock rollers in varying sizes and one super easy table top jump for beginners as well if anyone is feeling bold we can session them.
Parking:
Parking is near the intersection of Old Burbank Road and Tolland
